“I had to leave the show when I was four months pregnant because I had bought so many skirts and it was getting harder to hide the bump,” she stated.

Early life

Matubia was born in 1992.

She revealed in a prior interview that she had a difficult upbringing as a result of her biological mother’s rejection.

After her parents divorced, the actress said that she was rejected at her mother’s new home, causing her to move from one relative’s home to another.

“My mum was married elsewhere and the issue was always being accepted in the new family. Back in the days, getting married while already having a child was so hard, not like today. Right now, we are building a relationship after we forgave each other,” she expressed.

Despite this, Matubia and her mother have developed a closeness and a relationship through the years.

Jackie, grew up partly with her father, who lives in the United Kingdom, and with her mum in Kenya.

Family

After about four years together, the couple divorced in March 2019 and went their own ways.

Matubia, who also revealed that her biological father would subsequently be introduced to her as an uncle by her mother, realized how deeply the break affected her when her own marriage fell apart in early 2019.

Marriage

Matubia and her husband, Captain Mogz (a pilot), met on Instagram and began dating, eventually marrying. They were blessed with a daughter together.

The former Switch TV presenter, revealed that the rejection affected her, as she went into her marriage with unresolved issues.

“I got married in 2015 but after the breakup, I decided to give myself time. At that point, you don’t know who to talk with as you are left all alone. It breaks you more as you always want people to hear the side of your story. I rushed to get married, with no one to mentor me as I learned how to manage a marriage from working it out with my partner.

The most important person in her life, though, was her daughter, who, she claimed, required even more attention as a result of the divorce.

“Just like me, he also had issues before. The problem always is that we women tend to depend on a man, or our kids or our homes, to have a good life. We need to learn to make ourselves happy. For me, I attended counselling and learned to forgive, and how to love myself,” she recalled.

Matubia is an entrepreneur who owns a beauty shop and has an E-zone show on Rembo TV in addition to being a well-known actor. Fabulously Forward, her beauty store, specializes in nail art and accessories.
