‘I Suffered So Much!’ Justina Syokau Explains Why She Divorced Her Husband

Popular gospel singer Justina Syokau popularly known as ‘twedi twedi’ has revealed her reasons for her divorce nine years ago.

In an interview with Eve Mungai, the musician who rose to prominence two years ago after releasing the hit ‘2020’ revealed that she suffered a lot when she was married to a father to her child.

Syokau claimed that her ex-husband was not responsible and despite being competent, he was not addressing her financial needs. He also accused her of loving women too.

“Yule jamaa alikuwa anaacha 20bob, na anafanya kazi. Ni mtu ambaye naheshimu. Ni mtu anayeheshimiwa sana hapa Kenya. Yule mwanaume alikuwa womanizer, Najuta kuolewa na mwanaume mpenda wanawake, sikujua. Sikuona tahadhari na hakuwa anawajibika” Syokau alisimulia.

Losely translates to: “The man was leaving 20bob, and he was working. He is a man I respect. He is a very respected man here in Kenya. The man was a womanizer, I regret marrying a man who loves women, I did not know. ”

He also urged women who have been abused by their husbands to stop being tolerant and cut off before things get worse.

Syokau revealed that her marriage was in turmoil and her husband would beat her repeatedly for no apparent reason.

She said that her husband made her give up the good work she was doing and take care her home, something that pulled her back in life.

“Najuta kuolewa na mwanaume mpenda wanawake, sikujua. Sikuona tahadhari na hakuwa anawajibika. Niliteseka sana kwa ndoa yangu, nilikuwa nachapwa sana. Tena alinitoa kazi nikawa naenda kuchotea watu maji kule nyumbani kwao. Nilikuwa nafanya kazi katika hospitali ya Kijabe. Alinikuta nikiimba, nilirudi nyumba hata singeweza enda kuimba kwa sababu ndoa ilikumbwa na misukosuko mingi” Syokau alisema.

The musician has warned men against beating their wives while informing them that the practice has a negative impact on bed issues.
