Migori Woman Hangs Self, And One-Year-Old Baby

A 33-year-old woman reportedly killed herself and her 1-year-7-month-old daughter at Ntunyigi village in Kuria West, Migori County, following a suspected domestic dispute.

Kuria West sub-county Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the bodies of the deceased were found hanging from a tree in their farm.

Kimaiyo said the incident was reported by the deceased’s husband, Danile Chacha, who told police that he ate lunch together with the two before leaving for Bukuria Primary School to pick up their other children.

He stated that, however, upon his return, he found his wife – Sarah Boke – and daughter missing and mounted a search only to find their bodies hanging from the tree.

The police boss said they are yet to establish the cause of the incident, however adding that they suspect it could’ve been due to domestic wrangles.

He said the man and his wife have had a long history of domestic feud, further stating that they only recently reunited after a separation.

The bodies of the deceased have since been taken to the Kehancha sub-county hospital mortuary pending investigations and autopsy.
