Killer Cop Caroline Kangogo’s parents speak for the first time

The parents of Caroline Kangogo, a wanted police officer accused of killing two men in a span of two days, have spoken following the unfortunate turn of events.

The couple, Barnaba Kipkoech Korir and Leah Jepkosgei Kangogo, expressed shock and disappointment on Wednesday, July 7, during a prayer session that had been held at their home in Nyawa village, Elgeyo Marakwet county.

They pleaded with Kangogo to surrender to the authorities and highlight her role in the murder of the two men. Further, they urged her not to harm other people.

“Ajisalimishe kwa polisi sababu pia yeye ni askari ambaye anajua sheria. Ni vizuri ajitoe na ajisalimishe kwa polisi. (She should surrender to the police because she is also an officer and is conversant with matters of the law),” Korir appealed.

Speaking to her character, the suspect’s mother stated that Kangogo was a well-mannered child who was always eager to help the family.

“It was wrong for her to kill people. If at all there was anything wrong, she should have reported the matter to the police or come and discuss it with us. I am still in shock,” she stated.

“It will take a long time before we comprehend these events,” she added.

On his part, Kangogo’s brother suspected that she might have been facing marital and job-related stress.

Kangogo is suspected of shooting a police constable and leaving him dead in his car at Kasarani police station, Nakuru County on Sunday, July 4.

A day later, she is suspected to have killed another man at Dedamax Hotel in Kimbo, Juja.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has warned members of the public that the suspect is armed and dangerous.

“Men should be on the lookout for the rogue officer, who is luring men to her trap before executing them in cold blood. Let nobody trust her since she is armed and dangerous,” DCI cautioned.
